Sales Executive (freelance, 25 hours per week, flexible, working from home) – Discussion Box

Our unique real time platform allows us to facilitate lively Roundtable discussions worldwide that deliver valuable content from leading experts, IT industry professionals, analysts, innovators who are sharing their years of experience with a live audience. Discussion Box helps end users to further their knowledge and understanding about technology and digital transformation in the energy industry.
We are looking for a highly organised, experienced, proven freelance Sales Person with excellent communication skills for 25 hours per week, flexible. You will be communicating and liaising with Senior and C-Level executives within international corporations throughout Europe and the USA, such as Microsoft, IBM, Cisco, Honeywell and Rockwell Automation, securing high level sponsors and participants for our virtual Roundtables and Executive Interviews. You will source potential sponsors and manage the sales process from initial client contact through securing a sponsor, using a range of platforms to generate leads and prospecting via the telephone, email, LinkedIn and other marketing sources.
The role requires a person who preferably has experience within the energy industry and has a successful track record in a targeted sales role as you will be pitching to FTSE 250/Fortune 500 sized solution providers, such as Microsoft, Dell, Cisco, HP and IBM. You will need a desire to develop global business and technology expertise, as well as excellent verbal and written English communication skills (additional languages would be beneficial). You will be able to confidently liaise with potential sponsors through any form of communication channel with C-Level and senior executives from Europe and the USA. You will also have a proven ability to prioritise tasks and organise your time effectively, be self-motivated, have the drive to achieve targets and meet deadlines. This is a great opportunity for a freelance Sales Person looking to develop a new role within a fast-growing, exciting global business. You will receive ongoing support from the Discussion Box team with the potential of moving up to full time after a 6 month period.
Requirements & Responsibilities
• Must be able to identify, qualify, generate and manage own leads/prospects using telephone, email, LinkedIn and other marketing sources to lead to sales opportunities with both new and existing customers.
• Ability to research the market to develop an ongoing pipeline of sales leads.
• Proven track record of success in a targeted sales role, with the ability to sell on an international level.
• Clear and good understanding of the decision making and buying process within an organisation.
• Experience communicating and liaising with VP, C-Level and senior executives, with confidence and authority.
• Build rapport and establish long term relationships with customers
• Ability to carry out the necessary background research prior to speaking with VP, C-Level and senior executives including who they are, what they are aiming to achieve, their marketplace and an understanding of the issues that drive their industry.
• Ability to articulate our events and services that match prospects strategic objectives and solutions.
• Experience of working in a sales environment within the technology/technology-related industry.
• The ability to quickly digest complex information, and communicate this within high level conversations.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Highly organised and able to prioritise tasks, and manage your time effectively.
• Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative to achieve and exceed targets and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with an intelligent, inquisitive nature.
• 2-5 years’ experience in a B2B sales environment.
• Demonstrable track record of over-achieving quota
• Experience working within the energy industry.
• An interest in disruptive technologies and digital transformation.
