Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: Ongoing
General information for the business: Emerging technologies / IT company
Industry: Technology
Geographical areas: United Kingdom, EMEA
Target customers: Local government, councils, parking operators, police departments
Description of Business Development: This is an on-going position, ideal for someone with extensive experience in enterprise sales and government relations who is interested in advancing their career with a more challenging business development role in the UK and EMEA.
We are a small company focusing on emerging technologies, IT and software development. We have developed extremely innovative, cutting-edge technology products in the parking and transportation industry. We are new to the UK market and are looking for someone to be actively involved in developing and implementing a competitive business strategy.
You will initially be paid £450 per month, for part-time work. After three months, your performance will be evaluated based on results and you may be offered up to 10% equity in the company (and/or full-time employment or long-term consulting contract).
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
* Perform thorough and in-depth market research about the parking payments industry in the UK (both on-street and private parking)
* Identify significant problems, pain points and shortcomings of the existing market via phone interviews, in-person meetings and direct observation
* Give demand-driven, market validated suggestions and guidelines for strategic positioning and new product development
* Establish valuable relations with people of influence and authority in the industry (both local government and corporate)
* Develop and implement competitive business models and a sales strategy for our existing products and services
* Engage in active early-stage and on-going customer development
* Identify and approach suitable business partners, in the UK and abroad
* Identify and pursue opportunities for government financing for existing and new innovative product development and R&D
You must be based in or around London and be able to attend meetings and events and to actively network with industry players.
This is a position that will require a lot of energy, action and strategic thinking. In return, your efforts will make you a key part of a very uniquely positioned business with incredible long-term growth potential.
Extra notes: You will meet with me in person before I make my decision. All of your questions will be answered and you will be provided with plenty of information about the company, the products and the target markets.
