We are a small business startup doing a commercial consultancy and cross-border trade finance. We have no huge number of transactions, but part of the transaction are of a complicated nature including transfer of debt, debt purchase, debt-to-equity swap, third port shipment, back-to-back cross border trade...etc.
We are looking for a new one to join our growing startup team to be in charge of accounting, bookkeeping, and compliance.
The right candidate will be in charge of:
1) Building the appropriate accounting system and necessary controls (Forms, procedures, policy,...,ect) in compliance with UK tax law.
2) Reviewing the entries recorded on the accounting software and ensure all transaction are properly recorded and all the necessary accounting treatments are in place as to make sure a compliant and tax-efficient structure applies.
3) Maintain the necessary records and fill the create (fill) the necessary ones when necessary in order to keep all the records updated.
4) Submit the quarterly VAT report and follows the refund if any.
5) Submit the yearend reports including director report and any other necessary annual reporting.
6) The work is not office based, but the accounting/finance professional is expected to be available for a management meeting 2-3 times on each quarter or ahead of any necessary submission.
7) The right candidate shall have a superior understanding of the business and any necessary compliance or reporting. For instance, AML/KYC registration with FCA or HMRC if needed. He shall also be able to lead this filing when necessary.
8) May be asked to do write business plans intermittently, although a separate invoicing will be done on those occasions.
9) May be asked to do other admin jobs, including project management, which will also have a separate pay when asked.
