I would like a UK based accountant to create an excel template for creating for Limited Company contractors accounts and tax returns.

The template will work as follows:

1. The user will download transactions from internet banking (of the major banks) onto a spreadsheet and into the template.
2. The user will then be asked to code or classify all those transactions according to a standard chart of accounts relevant for that type of contractor like a simple cashbook.
3. The cashbook should be reconcilable or some check made to ensure all transactions are captured and keyed correctly.
4. There should also be a tab to enable manual adjusting journals to be made.
5. The cashbook movements and manual journals then feed into a trial balance.
6. The trial balance then feeds into a tax computation template.
7. The trial balance and tax computation then feeds into a basic profit and loss and balance sheet.
8. The profit and loss, balance sheet and control sheet then populates a VAT return and a CT600. These returns will be contained on separate tabs of the spreadsheet and formatted to have the appearance of those forms. The template will also direct the shareholder to the relevant boxes of the personal self assessment return that require completion.
9. The first tab of the spreadsheet will be a control sheet that collects pertinent information from the user to and directs them complete their tasks i.e. reporting dates, tax codes, VAT rate, VAT method, opening balances, IR35 status and information to help and guide the user.
10. There should also be a completion checklists for each of the various tasks that are undertaken.
11. Other tabs will contain templates for dividend statement template and payslip template.

The template will be designed to work for one whole tax year cycle.

The template is designed for single contractor limited companies who are either inside or outside IR35. I would like the spreadsheet to be formatted professionally and appealingly. It will contain no macros. It should be able to handle the 100-200 standard transactions of a limited company contractor.

The successful bidder will be someone who can show they are suitably experienced and/or trained in servicing Limited company contractor clients. They will be familiar with all the issues and able to answer follow up questions that I have. They must also be very competent in excel. Examples of past work in excel will be an advantage. The template must be as robust as possible.

I have a template already complete that crudely performs steps 1-7. This can be used as a starting point and improved if you wish or you are welcome to bring your own approach from scratch.
