Description
The system is already substantially developed and includes:
* A public-facing web application
* Internal administration and operations portals
* Mobile applications
* Management reporting and dashboard functions
* Several external APIs and automated services
This is not a new build. I need someone who can take over an existing codebase, understand how it has been assembled and establish a clean, reliable baseline before any further development takes place.
The first paid stage will be a technical audit covering:
* Reviewing the repositories, branches and development history
* Confirming which code and build versions are currently deployed
* Comparing production, testing and mobile application versions
* Mapping the hosting, DNS, database, storage and external integrations
* Reviewing environment variables, permissions and account ownership
* Identifying duplicated, obsolete or unnecessarily complicated code
* Checking whether AI-generated code has created excessive layering or technical debt
* Investigating current priority defects across the web and mobile applications
* Confirming that the system can be backed up, rebuilt and deployed reliably
* Producing a clear written audit and prioritised completion plan
The audit should identify:
1. What is working correctly
2. What is incomplete or unreliable
3. Any security, ownership or deployment risks
4. Code that should be simplified or removed
5. The recommended order and estimated cost of the remaining work
There will be further paid work available to repair, simplify, test, document and complete the platform after the audit.
You must have practical experience taking over existing software—not only building new projects. You should be comfortable working with Git-based repositories, cloud deployments, APIs, web applications and mobile builds.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools is useful, but you must also be capable of reading, debugging and refactoring the underlying code yourself.
This project is for an individual developer. Please do not apply if you are an agency or intend to subcontract the work.

Before confirming the fixed audit scope, how many repositories and separate deployed applications are currently involved?
Lee M.31 Aug 2026At present, there is one private Git-based monorepo containing seven application areas:
Customer-facing web application
Administration portal
Operations/movements portal
Driver application
Supplier portal
ETA/tracking service
Backend API
The iOS and Android versions relate to the driver application and are not separate repositories.
Only the customer-facing web application appears to be directly linked to the repository. The remaining applications appear to have been deployed manually through a command-line workflow, so the deployed versions may differ from the repository source.
Therefore, please scope the audit on the basis of one monorepo and seven application areas. Establishing exactly which source version corresponds to each live deployment is one of the key audit deliverables. -

One important clarification: is there currently a single known source of truth for each part of the platform — web, admin portals and mobile apps — or is part of the audit expected to determine which repositories/branches actually correspond to the versions currently running in production?
Also, are there any areas you already consider highest risk or most urgent, such as failed mobile builds, deployment instability, broken integrations, authentication issues or data inconsistencies?

Part of the audit is specifically to establish the source of truth.
There is one known private monorepo, but it has not yet been proven that every deployed application corresponds exactly to the source currently held there. The customer-facing web application appears directly connected to the repository, while several other applications were deployed manually through a command-line workflow.
Therefore, the audit needs to:
* Match each deployed application to its repository path, branch and commit
* Identify any uncommitted or deployment-only changes
* Establish an authoritative production baseline for every application
* Confirm a repeatable deployment and rollback process
The current priority risks are:
1. Source-code and deployment drift across the seven application areas
2. Mobile build/version inconsistencies between the available test build and the version reported by the existing developer
3. Failed camera and gallery uploads within the mobile application
4. Environment variables, permissions, secrets and third-party service ownership
5. Whether the complete platform and database can be backed up, recovered and redeployed independently
6. Duplicated or unnecessarily layered AI-generated code
7. Incomplete documentation of the external integrations and deployment process
There are no confirmed authentication or data-integrity failures at present, so those should be checked but not treated as established defects.
The initial audit should be read-only wherever possible. No production changes should be made without prior approval.
Please confirm whether your fixed price covers this scope across the one monorepo and seven application areas, together with your expected delivery time.
