Senior Drupal Developer with experience in AI agents and search functionality

We are seeking an experienced Drupal developer to finalize an event venue booking platform and prepare it for launch.

The platform connects event organizers with various event venues and spaces. The project is already well underway, but we require additional development capacity to complete, enhance, and thoroughly test the remaining functionality.

Key skills:

Extensive experience with Drupal 10/11 development
Experience building and integrating AI agents (e.g., using Codex or Claude)
Strong knowledge of search and filtering, particularly searching within structured Drupal data

Experience with the Drupal Search API, facets, AJAX filters, custom modules, and complex entity/field structures is highly relevant.

Assignment

Completing and improving existing venue search filters.

Building an AI search assistant that helps visitors find suitable venues using only the content and data available on our platform.

Building an AI assistant to help with venue onboarding.

Reviewing and improving an existing AI onboarding assistant for venue owners.

An existing AI onboarding assistant already processes information from websites, PDFs, documents, and images to help venue owners fill out Drupal forms. It works well but has room for improvement.

A Codex/OpenAI Pro subscription or Claude MAX access can be provided for the project.

We are not looking for someone who merely writes prompts. You must be able to understand an existing Drupal codebase, implement solutions, review generated code, and thoroughly test the results. Requirements
Proven experience with Drupal 10/11 development
PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, and Drupal APIs
Experience with Search API / Facets or similar Drupal search functionality
Experience integrating LLMs / AI agents
Git-based development workflow
Ability to work independently on an existing project
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken

Potential for follow-up work and expanding the role from part-time to full-time.

    How is the AI venue-search assistant expected to retrieve and rank results from Drupal: should it work through the existing Search API/Facets index, use a separate RAG/vector-search layer, or combine both, and should every AI recommendation obey the same Drupal visibility, taxonomy and filter rules as the standard venue search?
