Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: 1 day or less
This is a re-post
This is suitable for someone competent at copying text between apps and carrying out relatively simple edits on a Windows PC with MSWord installed - at speed.
It might be suitable for Word automation tools, but my assumption is that this is not the case.
I have 127 documents - Mostly Word and the remaining 11 are PDFs - these need reformatting ready for a text processing project.
Attached is a zip file with example of the source documents and a Work Spec. The work spec also lists some examples of things to check in the source files
In short it is
if using a PDF source file then copy just the text to Word
Ignore/Delete table of contents
Delete table cells and list items of less than 4 words
Prep tables cells and list items so that my test processing can process them better
Save reformatted text using the same name in Word97 format
Once the project is assigned - I would like to review how a couple of files are reformatted before further hours are spent on the remaining files.
This work is for a batch of 127 files (Batch1). There will be a need for another set of file called Batch2 to be edited in the same manner in a week or so. Anyone successfully and efficiently completing Batch1 will be favourite for the work involved on Batch2.
