Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: Ongoing
I am looking for a US English native speaker (or equivalent fluency) who can clean up machine-generated transcriptions to ensure they reflect the dictation.
The speaker's voice is very clear, so the transcription is quite good, but things that need to be fixed include:
- punctuation (this is the one thing transcription tools never get right, so I need someone with excellent grammar because punctuation has to be perfect)
- sentences broken in the wrong place (this is the main problem together with punctuation)
- incorrect capitalization, mistakes, and typos in general
- deleting unnecessary parts to improve readability (e.g., when the speaker corrects himself and the first part of the sentence can be cut, or when they say "and" several times in a list, which, in writing, would be replaced by commas - there are many examples of little tweaks that can be made to improve readability while keeping the content)
Transcription sample attached. I will send the audio file to qualified candidates for a short test on a three-minute transcription to assess the candidate's skills.
The collaboration can be ongoing as I have transcriptions coming in on a monthly basis, although workload varies and is never regular. The collaboration will be project-based, so please send a bid for a two-hour transcription cleanup and, in your cover letter, specify your per-minute fee. This is a low-budget job, suitable for students or native speakers who would find the task easy and would be able to complete it effortlessly.

Hello Alice are you looking for cleanup only? Or for transcriptionists to listen to the audio and clean the transcript up at the same time? This will enable me to quote my fee properly. Thank you
