Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
Hi there,
We require Polish native speakers to provide comprehensive and complete notes in Word from Polish audio files (mp3).
The audio files should be processed in one pass – as usual with live notes – but as it is a post-event / from audio file job, unlike with live notes, completeness, correct spelling, no abbreviations are expected. An audio player that allows to slow down playback is recommended.
Notes are NOT to be typed verbatim (word-by-word)! Answers should be condensed and summarized to provide the gist of what was being said.
Strict adherence to grammar is not at all required; in fact, sentence fragments and lists where applicable are perfectly acceptable: BUT: readers need to be able to clearly understand the What, How, Why of what was being said.
We will provide clear instructions, a template and a sample of the project to the selected sellers.
The files will be provided on Saturday 19 September and Sunday 20 September in batches throughout the day starting at noon (UTC+2). Batches means that at certain times during the day we will have a couple of audio files available, which means that there will be a fairly steady stream of files coming in.
Job details:
- 10 one-hour interviews (one-on-one)
- 4 three-hour focus group discussions (can be split into one-hour sections)
- 20 two-hour interviews (one-on-one)
- Non-challenging vocabulary
- Files (units) will be available throughout the day(s) (see above) but only one at a time, i.e. completed notes need to be returned and will have to be approved by us to receive the next file
- Notes need to be returned within three to six hours of receipt of the audio file (schedule will be provided); this should be plenty of time for experienced and more than sufficient time for less experienced note-takers to provide a good job
- Interested sellers need to be able to work throughout the weekend and “sign up” for more than just one unit.
- Sellers should be experienced transcribers and/or note-takers; Polish native speakers only
- Good typing speed and, more importantly, ability to summarize content intelligently
- Reliability and ability to follow instructions; please put in the first line of your proposal the time zone and country you’re currently living in
- Please consider your skills very carefully and suggest in your proposal how many units you feel confident to work on during one day
- Please provide some information on previous transcription and note-taking work undertaking
- Also, try and avoid typos in your proposal - they do not bode well for the quality of your subsequent work
Shortlisted providers will be contacted within a week from today, and receive a NDA to sign on Monday 7; we will then provide the details and instructions and go from there.
Thank you for your interest! Looking forward to hearing from you!
