£17,000 per annum
The Night Porter will work from 10pm to 8am on an average of a 35 hour week. The rota system is based on a two week rolling rota where in week 1, the Night Porter will work on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In week 2 the Night Porter will work Wednesday and Thursday only. Therefore the Night Porter will enjoy a long weekend off every other weekend.
The Night Porter will be working alone unsupervised and therefore it will be essential that all applicants have proven experience in a similar role. The Night Porter is the first point of contact for hundreds of residents and visitors and therefore applicants must be confident, well mannered, polite, have an excellent command of the English language, exceptionally well presented and have a strong appetite for high customer service delivery.
Nightly routine duties will include:
1.You are responsible to ensure that the desk is covered throughout your shift apart from when you are conducting routine foot patrols or assisting residents with luggage or shopping bags.
2.You are to assist residents, guests and visitors when and where required.
3.Ensure that you are always courteous, polite and positive to residents.
4.A special log of registered mail and deliveries is to be maintained which residents must sign when the item is delivered/collected.During routine patrols, staff to notify residents of delivery asking them to contact front desk whereupon arrangements can be made for delivery.
5.Manage CCTV and to monitor the security of the grounds and development.Carry out regular checks to ensure that all gates and external doors are kept closed and that locks are in good repair and to investigate and report suspicious occurrences to the Managing Agents.
6.In conjunction with this you will be required to ensure effective security of the building and car park, which will be co-ordinated by the Head Porter.
7.To monitor all persons within the building and ensure they have a right to be present.
8.To answer the telephone, log all messages and deal with general enquiries.
9.Ensure that the common parts of the building are kept clear of obstructions at all times.
