Description
Experience Level: Expert
The European Film Festival is launching a low-budget film festival to run in Toronto, during the Toronto Film Festival, Sept 8-18, 2010. We are looking for a Toronto-based events organizer, with very strong knowledge of the local indie film scene, to act as our on-site deputy. We run similar events at other locations around the world, each with a local deputy director. The job will entail between 100 and 150 hours of work between now and the end of the festival. Job duties include: liaising with screening venues; publicizing the event to the indie filmmaking community in Toronto so they attend the screenings (in your proposal, you'll do well if you can give us an idea of how you'd do this); hosting each evening of the event Sept 8-18, being a resource person for attending filmmakers, and documenting the event. The Toronto festival will have an operating budget of around $10,000, this is on top of your salary. Most contact with EFF organizers will be via email, so you'll need to be very comfortable communicating over email. If successful, this will become an annual event with greater employment opportunities.
