Project Director
Job Description:
After an initial pilot project in 2010, we have established a new Teacher Recruitment & Placement Division and is seeking a Director to build this program. The initial focus is the recruitment of English Language teachers for a Saudi Arabian educational provider who operates ESL/EFL programs on multiple university campuses in KSA. We envision the program growing to include other clients in KSA and elsewhere around the world and to expand to include teachers in other academic fields.
Job Duties:
• Market and advertise current ESL/EFL teaching opportunities in order to build a pool of at least 1,000 qualified candidates over the first 12 months.
• Conduct preliminary interviews with candidates who meet minimum stated qualifications.
• Serve as the direct liaison between institutional client program providers and us.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of institutional client needs and expectations.
• Prepare materials, electronic and/or printed, that give candidates a clear understanding of the details of the pre-departure process, the living and work arrangements in-country, and the cultural and social proficiencies and sensitivities appointed candidates will need to know.
• Function as advocate to clients for recommended candidates.
• Manage the Division budget efficiently, effectively and profitably.
• Develop and implement a plan to seek additional institutional clients.
• Take the lead on negotiating the terms of contracts with prospective institutional clients.
• As the Division grows and additional staff are necessary, the Director will be responsible for staff recruitment, for recommending to the President/CEO appropriate staff members, and for supervising all activity and individuals operating within the Division.
• Engage in strategic thinking regarding the growth of the Division and lead in development of strategic plans for the Division.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of ESL/EFL teaching experience in one or more international settings strongly preferred
• Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple complex tasks with many moving parts
• A minimum of two years program management experience highly desirable
• Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Native English-speaker
• Strong orientation toward program growth (top line) and profitability (bottom line)
• Willingness to relocate to the Charlotte, NC area
Position availability: Immediate
Employment Characteristics:
• Full-time exempt employee in 12-month position
• Annual salary in $42,000-50,000 range
• Group health insurance coverage
• 3 weeks vacation, 5 days sick leave, 11 paid holidays
