Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: 6 weeks
I'm a busy working individual with many deadlines and personal goals to achieve. These include work-related administration and personal creative projects. I am looking for a virtual assistant to facilitate the completion of tasks during a 1-hour skype session (i.e. accountability sessions) on a weekday evening (7pm onwards).
Getting work done effectively and efficiently is highly important to me, however, accomplishing this by myself is possible but challenging. The purpose of these sessions is to reduce the mental energy expended trying to start tasks and be held accountable whilst doing tasks. I believe hiring a virtual assistant is the best way to do this.
The role of a virtual assistant during these accountability sessions is simple and can be summarised as 'watch me work and prompt me to move onto the next task'. There will be minimal communication during these sessions, however your role is still vital as you will require good time-keeping/observational skills to know if and when to prompt me to move onto my next task.
Further details of the role:
1. At the start of each skype session, I will send a dated document with a list of the tasks I would like to work through during each session (note: it is unlikely that all tasks will be completed during a session but the goal is for me is to get as far down the list as possible). If I have not sent a new document, then just use the document from the previous session and save it with a new date.
2. Verbally prompt me as to what my task is, as I don't always have the document open in front of me
3. Allow me to get on with that task. However, if you notice that I seem to be taking unusually long to complete a task or seem to be struggling, please ask me how close I am to completing the task and/or prompt me to move onto the next set of tasks (depending on what you think is most appropriate). I will leave that to your judgement because the time needed for tasks is highly variable.
4. Mark the tasks as I complete them. This provides a record for me of how much I am getting done in each session and holds me accountable.
5. Save the document, and send it to me via Skype for my records.
Essential personal characteristics:
- Takes initiative
- Not afraid to keep me accountable
- Positive and good at motivating others
- Understands that my need to achieve goals
- Not easily distracted
Apply if you feel that you fit the above description (please mention reasons why you think you would a suitable fit)
**This role is intended to be on an as-required basis (as the number of tasks needed to be completed will vary from week-to-week). As an estimate, we are likely one accountability session per week (and unlikely to go beyond 3 sessions/week).
I am trialling this role for a total of 6-weeks then it will be re-reviewed depending on my ongoing work/personal needs**
