Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
Hello,
The job requires you to search the sites of competing businesses to get data on the services they offer. The businesses are parcel forwarders in the UK.
The main part of the job will involve finding out the amount that the business charges for different parcel weights to different destinations. This will require you to manually go to each competitor's site and entering in specifications to get the information. There are seven destinations for each different parcel. Please choose the cheapest option if multiple ones are provided, and also note what type of service it is (e.g. Post Office / courier express). For countries in the EU please state whether VAT Is included or not.
Other data, such as sign up and subscription fees (if applicable) are also required. In some cases, the business will offer more than one level of service. Data for both levels should be saved in the spreadsheet. An example of this has been shown with MyUkMailBox (Standard and Premium).
For the additional services, please try to gather how much is charged for it.
Consolidation: Can you choose to have multiple parcels combined in to one shipment? If so, try to find out if this is a multi-piece shipment, or one larger package.
Personal shopper: Will the company offer to buy goods on behalf of the customer if a retailer does not accept international credit cards?
Supermarket shop: Can a customer order groceries from a retailer and have them forwarded to their home?
Insurance: Does the business offer the option of insurance?
Large items: Can the forwarder deal with large items for you? E.g. A sofa.
Repacking: Will the business reduce the size of the package to decrease the volume, making it cheaper?
Dangerous goods: Is the company able to ship dangerous goods around the world?
Tracking: Does the company offer the customer the ability to tracks their parcels?
Storage: Can the customer store items with the business? If so, for how long? Is it free or not?
Fulfilment: Can the customer send inventory to the company, who will then deliver the individual items to buyers.
Photos: Do they offer customers the option to have a photo taken of the goods when they arrive?
Are there any other services that the company offers?
Feedback / reviews: Does the company have an independent company that customers can leave reviews on. Or do they show testimonials?
The attached spreadsheet should be filled out to completion.
