We are hiring a data entry clerk for basic data entry work. Work will require cutting and pasting information from various online sources into an online CMS and involve basic categorization
The data entry work to be performed is repetitive and simple using basic cut/paste data. However, independent judgment will be needed in the bid categorization area. This is not difficult, and knowledge and confidence will be gained through time.
It is anticipated that approx. 20 hours per week for the first 30-60 days will needed and, thereafter, 40 hours per week on a long-term basis will be needed. We will hire at least one data entry clerk, train them, and work them for approx. 30-90 days. We will then evaluate that data entry clerk\'s compliance with the work requirements. If the data entry clerk is meeting requirements, the relationship will continue. If not, we will give notice to stop work immediately, and we will hire another data entry clerk. This iteration will continue until we locate a person (or persons) who have the skills and personality we like and who can work with us on a long-term basis.
This is very possibly a long-term project for the right person(s). We are a small company, and we are looking for person(s) who are looking for a long-term relationship and are willing to grow with us. The data entry clerk we hire may be asked in the future to help train additional data entry clerks.
Data entry clerk can work from home from a remote location. However, that person must be able to communicate regularly with us.
Tasks will be assigned to the data entry clerk using task management software. Each task will be very similar, and the instructions will be spelled out in the task description.
Data will be entered into a web-based CMS via controlled login and password. However, after the person is fully trained and experienced, it is possible that future data entry will be made to Excel, and bulk uploads will be performed.
Data Entry Clerk Requirements:
1. Data entry efficiency. Fast and accurate data entry skills
2. Ability to communicate well in English.
3. Own and use a computer with high-speed Internet access. Special consideration will be given to those who use dual monitors – this is a plus because it aids in the efficiency of toggling between two screens and data entry.
4. Very experienced with using the Tab/Alt function of Windows (or equivalent keyboard shortcut on a Mac) which allows for easy toggling between 2-3 programs and screens. This shortcut will be used extremely frequently.
5. Must be accessible via email, instant messaging, and available for periodic conference calls.
6. Professional, self-motivated, and quick learner
7. High energy level, strong work ethic and results driven
8. Use or access to Microsoft Outlook which will be used to assign tasks to the data entry clerk and/or familiarity or willingness to learn and use other task management software solutions.
9. Some familiarity with CMS functionality and task management software
10. Ability to exercise independent thought and good judgment
11. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Agreement to a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) will be required.
12. Familiarity and proficiency using Microsoft Excel with the ability to modify and sort data
13. Willingness to download and use Google Talk: http://www.google.com/talk/. Google Talk requires a Windows XP operating system (or later) and a gmail email.
To be considered for this position, please forward your resume and hourly wage requirements (in U.S. dollars). Our budget is between $1.75 and $3.00 in U.S. dollars.
