Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
Arena Plc has a static HTML site (www.arena-jet.com). The Arena Jet site needs a page that supplies potential customers with a cost estimator for a flight.
The page will present visitors with a list of departure airports, arrival airports and dates. From the selection it will calculate an estamated cost for the trip based on back-end prameters. There may also be the option of repeating the process for a return trip to update the total.
If the client wishes to enquire further they can submit their selection. This will package their selections along with some contact detail fields into an email notification, sent to a designated address.
This form will fit into the standard website page format.
UPDATE
Apologies it's my first time using this site so I may not be posting the slickest job offer!
One more update but I think we are closing in on the correct definition of the job.
1) Not all the data will be available from the start. We will have to use sample cities and values. A lot of calculations need to be done our end to populate the database.
The database structure will need to be written with updates in mind (I only have experience of HTML, CSS and very basic JavaScript). I'm sure I can add locations, resulting trip IDs and their cost values, the multiplying factor for each aircraft type etc. If the database is annotated this shouldn't be a problem.
2) as well as picking a set price based on the two locations the calculation will add on values that result from the flight being one-way, a gap between outbound and return. The calculator will use number of passengers and return the price for each aircraft rather than have it as an option.
3) English is the only required language for this tool.
4) A close example is located at http://www.diamondjets.co.uk/
I'm adding this as originally it may not have been clear that the database and other back-end things have to be written. Thank you all for your time, I'll be clearer from now on.
