Job Title : Large Scale Copy Writing Project

Job Location : Remote

Job Status :
Bid Accepted

Job Description

I am looking for a competent Copy Writer to take on a large scale content project for a leading UK Retail Directory. The aim of these articles is first and foremost to be Search Engine compliant, but must also be legible and be genuinely informative to the user.

The content topics will primarily be based around UK retailers but may also stretch further afield to European and International retail brands. Some articles may concentrate on individual services provided by certain brands, that may not be their key focus.

I am ideally looking for someone based in the UK, for their greater knowledge of UK retail and to streamline communication between myself and the winning bidder.

Each piece of content is required to be around 300-350 words in length and have a keyword frequency of around 8 throughout the article. I have attached a sample article relating to the GPS brand Garmin for use as an example on what is required.

There are around 1750 articles that i need written at the present time and I am looking to get these completed as soon as possible. Once the project is completed, there may be further work available for the right candidate.

I require examples of work, and a trial article to be written based on a UK retailer of the bidders choice - this will not be paid for but used to evaluate the quality of each bidder.

Please bid on price per article.

Hi Dave (and many other raising the same issue),

I'm currently liasing with my Managing Director at the possibility of distributing the project amongst multiple content writers.

It seems a viable option that we are currently looking in to. I thank you for your patience.

Gary.

Hi Gary,

I'm interested in quoting for this piece of work, but you've said to bid on a price per article. That doesn't seem to work with the PPH system which is asking me to quote a price for the entire 1,750 article project.

I'd imagine that you've already realised from your experience with your previous copywriter that you can't get quality content if it's being generated at a rate of an article every 20 minutes - not many people can even type at that speed!

Given that, you'll realise that it's going to take longer for professional writers like myself to produce this content. Most of my contracts are based on around 1,000 words per day, which would equate to around 20 months to complete the work you require.

Others have already suggested that the work be split between more than one bidder, and this makes a lot of sense. Would you be happy for me (and others if they wish to do so) to quote for batches of 250 articles?

Dave

Hi, Many thanks for your posts.

Teresa - That is correct, the copywriter themselves will be researching the relevant topic, but i will supply a relevant url and keyword for each of these brands.

Gaynor - Yes, this is definately a valid option that I am currently looking in to, and I may award segments of the project to different candidates based on their article rate.

David - The target audience for the content as far as a user is concerned would be an online bargain hunter looking for brand related savings. The content should hopefully open their eyes to what the brand has to offer, and persuade them to purchase from said brand.

Hi Gary
two questions I always ask before committing to a copywriting project: Who will the target audience be? And what do you want them to do as a result of reading the copy?

This makes a huge difference to the content and tone of the articles. Look forward to hearing from you.

I would like to ask a couple of questions before bidding.

Having worked out rough time to write each article it is apparent that one person writing all these would take an awful long time.

What is your time scale to produce all these articles?

How will the content be researched? I assume by the copywriter on the internet. Is that correct?

Thanks,

Teresa

Hi Anne. While there is no concrete deadline, my previous Copy Writer completed around 200 articles per 10 days - his speed was adequate, however his quality was not. Therefore a rough completion time would be 3 months.

What is the deadline for completing the 1750 articles? You have indicated that you need them as soon as possible but can you give an approximate time frame?
