Large PHP/mySQL database-driven site requires optimisation

We require an individual with experience in working with large, database-driven PHP sites, particularly with regards optimising text search performance.

Specifically, we have a very large photography site with thousands of tagged images stored, but the keyword search performance needs to improve. The search structure itself is rather complex, and we need the performance improved both in the short term and to be scalable for future expansion.

The successful bidder will need experience in analysing the PHP code, analysing and, if neccessary, making changes to the mySQL database, as well as monitoring the hosting hardware in case the sub-standard performance we\'re seeing is a result of a hardware issue.

We consider this a fairly complex job and so will require some confirmation that you have worked on similar projects in the past, be they references or detailed examples of the solutions implemented to comparable problems.
