With almost 10 years' professional experience as a freelance proofreader, editor and writer, I've helped hundreds of clients polish their work to the highest standard. Whether you're looking for a meticulous proofread, a thoughtful edit or engaging, natural-sounding content, I'll work with you to ensure your words have the impact you intended.
I believe that every piece of writing deserves care and attention. As Buddha wisely said, "Words have the power to both destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our world." That's an approach I bring to every project, treating each document with the same care as if it were my own.
I graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2003 with a BA (Hons) in Linguistics with German, where I developed a thorough understanding of English grammar, language structure and linguistics, alongside proficiency in German. After graduating, I built valuable experience in administrative, secretarial and customer service roles, developing exceptional organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
Determined to turn my passion for language into a career, I completed professional proofreading training with Chapterhouse in 2015 before launching my freelance business. Since joining PeoplePerHour in 2016, I've had the privilege of working with clients from around the world on an incredibly diverse range of projects.
My experience includes:
• Proofreading, editing and, where required, rewriting dissertations, theses, essays, novels, memoirs, non-fiction books, blogs, articles, websites, recipes and marketing materials.
• Writing and editing CVs, cover letters, website copy, business content and promotional material.
• Transcribing podcasts, interviews and video recordings.
• Translating a wide range of documents from German into English, including books, academic papers, promotional material, medical reports, product descriptions and testimonials, as well as occasional English-to-German translations.
What I enjoy most about freelancing is the variety. Every project is different, and I genuinely love helping people present their ideas in the clearest, most professional and engaging way possible. My aim is always to provide work that is accurate, polished and tailored to your audience while maintaining your unique voice.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, travelling, arts and crafts, upcycling, photography, music and live performances. I also love learning languages and have taught myself some British Sign Language and Chinese.
