- Views 12
What you get with this Offer
Do you know what your products or projects are really costing your business?
In manufacturing and engineering, profitability depends on more than material costs. Labour, subcontractors, stock and work in progress (WIP) all affect your margins.
I'm Janka, owner of JMH Bookkeeping. With experience in manufacturing and engineering finance, I can help you understand your existing job costings and identify areas for improvement.
What's included:
• Review of one product, job or project costing.
• Assessment of material costs and quantities.
• Review of direct labour rates and hours.
• Consideration of subcontractor and other direct costs.
• Review of relevant stock and WIP information.
• Identification of apparent gaps or inconsistencies.
• Written findings and practical recommendations.
What you'll receive
A written report explaining my findings, highlighting potential costing issues and recommending improvements.
Where sufficient information is available, I'll also comment on the margin shown by your existing costing.
Price and scope
The fixed price of £295 includes up to 3.5 hours of review work for one agreed product, job or project.
This is a focused review, not a financial audit.
The price excludes developing a complete costing system, correcting historical records, detailed stock reconciliations, preparing management accounts or implementing changes.
Any profitability assessment depends on the accuracy of the information supplied.
Additional work
If further investigation or support is needed, I'll provide a separate quotation.
Additional work is normally charged at £55 per hour or an agreed fixed price.
No additional work will be undertaken or charged without your prior approval through PeoplePerHour.
If the information is incomplete or the work exceeds the agreed scope, I'll discuss the options with you before proceeding.
Delivery
Within five days, provided the necessary information is received in time to meet the agreed PPH deadline.
I also offer ongoing bookkeeping, stock, WIP, job costing and wider finance support.
What the Freelancer needs to start the work
To carry out your costing review, I'll need:
1. A brief description of your business and the product, job or project you'd like reviewed.
2. Your existing costing information for that job or product.
3. Details of material costs and quantities.
4. Direct labour rates and hours, where available.
5. Relevant subcontractor and other direct costs.
6. Information about any stock or work in progress included in the costing.
7. Details of any particular concerns you'd like me to investigate.
Please provide the information securely through PeoplePerHour. You do not need to share passwords or unrestricted access to your accounting systems.
Once I've received the information, I'll confirm that everything needed for the review is available.
