Who am I?
Since childhood, I’ve always had a strong desire to communicate and bridge cultural barriers. This drive led me to pursue languages and cultures, eventually discovering my passion for translation.
When I was just 8 years old, I came across a page in a history book with Egyptian hieroglyphs. Without internet access at that age, learning a dead language from 3000 B.C. seemed impossible! But I learned 26 hieroglyphs and assigned each one a letter from the Italian alphabet and I started writing in my "secret language". This was my early expression of the need to communicate in new and creative ways. Over the years, my passion for languages grew, and by the time I was 13, I was fluent in English, French and Spanish, languages that I continued to improve and now work as a translator in Italian-English, Italian-French, and Italian-Spanish language pairs.
During school years, I studied in the summer at the Accord private school in Paris, where I earned a French language certificate, and at Don Quijote school in Barcelona, where I earned a Spanish certificate. I also obtained an English language certificate in Italy. After school, I moved to France, where I studied Languages and Translation at university, and then moved to Spain, where I worked as a receptionist at the 4-star hotel Fergus Palmanova Club Park, working daily with clients from England, Spain, France, Italy, and Germany.
My passion for communication and cultural discovery extends beyond speaking. I’ve always loved writing. I started with a secret diary as a child as most of us did, later contributing to school newspapers and writing for my hometown’s local journal. I’ve written news, articles, essays, poems and book reviews.
I study Translation and Linguistic Mediation for Businesses and Social Media, and my approach to translation goes beyond mere word-for-word conversion. For me, translation is about conveying concepts, ideas and emotions. I believe in translating meaning, not just text. My approach often involves techniques such as modulation, transposition, adaptation and many others, to ensure that the impact of the source text is preserved for the target audience. I see the translator as a bridge, connecting different cultures and languages while eliminating any potential misinterpretations.
