Step 1: Students will identify all the words from the nursery rhyme that have the –ack ending.
Step 2: Students will brainstorm other words that have the –ack ending. They will decide if each word is a real word or a nonsense word. Teacher will confirm all real words.
Step3: Students will give the meaning of each word identified.
Assessment:
1.Students will play a modified version of ‘musical chairs’. Teacher will play a tune and students will dance along. Teacher will call some words and students will sit whenever they hear a word that ends with -ack.
2.Students will use the words identified in the lesson to make a rhyming sentence.
