Long Context Processing — Handle Oversized Documents

I will build a long document processing system — handling documents that exceed your context window using chunking with overlap, map-reduce processing for analysis tasks, sliding window for sequential tasks, and hierarchical summarisation for multi-document collections. Long document processing without a deliberate strategy produces inconsistent results — naive truncation silently discards potentially critical information, while naive chunking without overlap loses context at chunk boundaries; a properly designed strategy makes explicit decisions about what to retain and what to summarise, maintaining information fidelity throughout the processing chain.

The system covers document segmentation with configurable chunk size and overlap, map-reduce processing for extraction and analysis, sliding window for sequential tasks requiring cross-chunk context, hierarchical summarisation for document collections, and final synthesis quality evaluation.
