I illustrate for children's books for authors looking to self publish as well as publishing houses. I've worked with award winning author Lynne Reid Banks as well as on character development as part of a team for the official Paddington Bear style catalogue for the new 2014 film.
I can work on a scene for print or ebook and can design covers too.
The hourlie covers an illustration in a spot format like the images provided. Full bleed illustrations for double page spreads I can quote on if you want those too.
The price indicated is for one to two characters in a simple scene, so if you need more characters write to me so we can discuss further. Most picture books will need a variety of formats like double page spreads as well as single pages and spot illustrations.
After I've read the text I create hand drawn sketches for your approval, once these are signed off I will provide a colour palette for you and then once agreed I will paint up. I will then scan the watercolour at a high resolution and save both in CMYK for print and RGB for screen and clean up the image ready for insertion. Higher resolution files will be delivered via Dropbox for you.

What the Freelancer needs to start the work
Send me a brief or your text! I'm happy to sign an NDA if you want your story to be a secret until publishing. I can then advise you on the amount of illustration you will need.
Ideally you will need to know what platform you will publish on as I will need the size and specifications to do the work, especially if you want more than spot illustrations.
I need a deposit on PPH to start the job, with monthly payments if needed and a final payment on completion. There should always be money in Escrow so I can continue work and it is only released when I invoice you.
