What you get with this Offer
Getting ready for Cyber Essentials can feel like a lot of unfamiliar questions. I turn it into a clear list of what to change, who should change it and what to show the assessor.
You fill in a short questionnaire about your devices, cloud services, home working and IT setup. "Don't know" is a fine answer. I then send you a readiness report written for your business:
1. Draft answers to the current Cyber Essentials question set, based on what you told me, with anything I could not answer marked for your IT person
2. A gap list in priority order, starting with the items that would stop you passing
3. A ready to forward note for your IT person or provider
4. An evidence checklist so you can answer the assessor's follow up questions quickly
5. A step by step guide to buying, submitting and the declaration
A check of your public website and email domain is available as an extra below. I look only at what anyone on the internet can see: HTTPS certificate, security headers, SPF, DKIM and DMARC email records, and a short list of paths that should not be public. No penetration testing, no passwords, no attempts to break in.
What this is not: I am not a Certification Body, so I cannot certify you or promise a pass. The certification fee is paid by you directly to the Certification Body. I do not carry out Cyber Essentials Plus testing, and I do not log in to or change your systems. You or your IT provider make the changes, and you complete and sign the official assessment yourself.

What the Freelancer needs to start the work
The completed intake questionnaire I send when you order, plus screenshots where asked (a phone photo of a screen is fine). For the website check: your website and email domain names, and written confirmation that you own or control them and are happy for me to check them. Please don't send any passwords.
