Foundation Model Governance — Enterprise AI Model Management

I will develop a foundation model governance framework for your organisation — covering model selection and approval processes, acceptable use policies for different model tiers, data handling standards for each model's privacy characteristics, cost approval thresholds, model performance monitoring requirements, and an incident response process for foundation model failures or misuse. Organisations deploying foundation models without governance frameworks encounter predictable problems — shadow use of unapproved models, sensitive data shared with consumer AI products without consent, uncontrolled costs as departments independently subscribe to frontier models, and no process for investigating model-generated content that causes harm.

The framework covers a model tier classification system, selection and approval process, acceptable use policy, data classification rules per model tier, cost management policy, performance monitoring requirements, and an incident response playbook for foundation model-related issues.
