### My approach to fact-checking

Good fact-checking is not simply searching for a sentence online and finding another website that repeats it.

I use an editorial research approach, looking for credible and authoritative evidence wherever possible. Depending on the subject, this can include official publications, government data, academic research, court or public records, reputable journalism and appropriate primary sources.

I will also distinguish between established facts, allegations, opinions, estimates and genuinely disputed information rather than presenting them as equivalent.

I have particular research experience and interests across politics, public policy, history, true crime, Wales, culture and society, although I am happy to work across other subjects.
