Domain Embedding Fine-Tuning — Custom Embeddings for Content

I will fine-tune a sentence transformer embedding model on your domain data — using contrastive learning with your labelled pairs (similar/dissimilar documents) to produce embeddings that capture the semantic relationships specific to your domain more accurately than a general-purpose model trained on web text. General-purpose embedding models are trained to capture semantic similarity as it appears in general text — they perform poorly on highly specialised domains where similarity means something domain-specific (two medical abstracts about the same condition are more similar than two general texts using the same words); fine-tuned embeddings on domain-specific similarity pairs significantly outperform general models on domain retrieval tasks.

The fine-tuning covers training pair preparation from your labelled data, sentence transformer model selection, contrastive learning fine-tuning, evaluation on a held-out domain retrieval test set, comparison against the general model baseline, and delivery as a deployable fine-tuned model.
