What you get with this Offer
I will review the information and documents provided, establish the scope, identify the issues to be investigated and prepare an appropriate investigation approach.
What's included
• Investigation planning and scoping
• Review of relevant documents and evidence
• Preparation of investigation questions
• Up to three remote fact-finding interviews
• Interview notes
• Consideration of the evidence
• Identification of relevant factual issues
• A written investigation findings report
Interviews may involve the complainant, witnesses, the employee concerned or other relevant individuals. I will conduct interviews in a structured and impartial manner, record the relevant information and identify any further factual issues requiring consideration.
Following the investigation, I will prepare a written findings report setting out the matters investigated, evidence considered, relevant accounts and factual findings. The report will distinguish findings of fact from matters requiring management consideration. I will not make the employer's disciplinary or other management decision.
Important scope distinction
A formal investigation meeting with the employee under investigation is not included in this Offer and can be added separately. Additional investigation interviews can also be added where more than three are required.
Additional services
Additional investigation interview: £150 per interview.
Investigation meeting support: £260, including preparation, remote attendance, note-taking and practical employment/HR support. The employer's nominated investigator remains responsible for conducting and chairing the meeting.
Disciplinary hearing support: £390, including preparation, remote attendance, note-taking and practical employment/HR support. The employer's nominated chair remains responsible for conducting the hearing and making the decision.
It does not include tribunal or court proceedings, negotiation, representation, extensive legal research, specialist technical investigations, or matters involving a large number of allegations, witnesses or documents beyond the agreed scope.
If the matter becomes materially more complex, I will identify the additional work required and agree the scope and fee before proceeding.

What the Freelancer needs to start the work
Please confirm that you are the employer or are authorised to act for the employer and provide a clear summary of the complaint, allegation or employment issue requiring investigation.
Please provide a chronology of what has happened so far, including any action already taken and the current stage of the matter.
Please identify the people involved, including the complainant, the employee concerned and any known witnesses or other individuals who may have relevant information. Please provide the information needed to arrange remote interviews with those individuals.
Please upload the relevant employment contract, policies, complaint or allegation, correspondence, meeting notes, statements and other evidence currently available.
Please explain what the investigation is intended to establish and identify any particular questions or issues that you want the investigation to address.
Please tell me whether the matter is connected with an existing grievance, disciplinary, capability or other employment process and provide details of any meeting already planned.
Please provide the date by which the investigation needs to be completed and any relevant deadlines.
If you already know that a formal investigation meeting with the employee is likely to be required, please tell me when placing the order so that the additional meeting support can be considered separately.
Please provide any other information you consider relevant to understanding the matter before the investigation begins.
