By assessing your existing content, I can identify any cases of duplicate content or similar content that are negatively impacting the strength of your website. This is a clean-up and preventative measure – not a means to generate new ideas.
The only way to truly perform a content audit is to analyse and appraise each piece of content individually and manually. While I would also run technical tools that indicate the strength of each page, they can’t take into account the nuance of the content on them.
For example, say you have three pages that are competing with each other and thus performing badly – perhaps combining these into a single, comprehensive article will create a powerful, optimised piece of content. If only technical tools were used, all three pages would simply be lost.
