API Orchestration — Saga Pattern & Transaction Management

I will implement the Saga pattern for your distributed API transactions — ensuring that when a multi-step transaction involving multiple APIs fails at any step, previously completed steps are compensated (undone), maintaining data consistency across systems that have no shared transaction mechanism. The Saga pattern is essential when your orchestration involves write operations across multiple systems that each commit independently — booking a flight, then a hotel, then a rental car requires that if the rental car booking fails, the flight and hotel bookings are cancelled, not left in a committed state that the user has no corresponding reservation for.

The implementation covers saga step definition with forward and compensating transaction pairs, choreography or orchestration saga style selection, failure detection and compensation trigger, compensation execution order management, saga state persistence for recovery, and distributed transaction audit logging.
