    As Communications Manager I am responsible for some of the following duties:

    • Help upkeep of press office systems, such as media lists, filing cuttings, case study database and forward planning calendars

    • Arrange beneficiary photo-calls and brief photographers

    • Strengthen relationships with journalists developing appropriate networks.

    As Public Sector Project Manager had responsibility for overhauling strategic approach to the public sector marketplace in the field of employee benefits. Involved intensive Freedom of Information campaign, marketing and communications support, bid-response development and strategic planning. Short term contract.

    Governetz was formed as a company capable of forming a bridge as a trusted third party between the two cultures of public sector, governed by an ethos of accountability and the commercial world governed by its primary ethos of profitability. The vision behind Governetz has been to create public value and common purpose between government suppliers and purchasers for the improved delivery of better public services.

    Achievements & Successes:
    ï‚§ Developed successful public sector marketing and communications strategies capable of adaptation to clients of all shapes and sizes, colours hues from major plcs such as EDS, Easynet, the Financial Times, DBM and TEAM Relocations to government clients including the Valuation Office Agency and The Fire Service College.
    ï‚§ Took full responsibility for all details of B2G & G2G direct marketing campaigns. This included copy and graphical production, tele-sales training and co-ordination for high level appointment setting, research support and attending eventual sales meetings. Secured repeat bookings.
    ï‚§ Created programmes, secured keynote speakers and sponsors for a number of national fee-paying conferences and events on public service themes including; government property and relocation; sustainability; transformational government. In each case I also managed stakeholder relations with media partners, commercial and government partners. The conferences were aimed at central government and the wider public sector on a national level. I was also responsible for sourcing datasets, research and sales training.
    ï‚§ Created programmes, secured speakers organized logistics and acted as Chair for tailored client awareness raising events for public and private sector clients alike ranging from The Fire Service College, London Remade, Easynet & DBM. For Easynet 6 regional and national information seminars were held on an annual basis from 2003 to present.
    ï‚§ Wrote copy, edited and commissioned material for publication in a variety of trade, professional and national journals. Developed an online public sector broadband newsletter PS’ for Easynet Ltd
    ï‚§ Secured business and managed private sector accounts successfully over many years
    ï‚§ Provided Marketing Consultancy advice which benefited clients principally by deepening their knowledge, understanding and ability to better engage with government to meet their public sector sales targets.
    ï‚§ Provided strategic advice on all aspects of public affairs, involving securing favourable press coverage, writing press releases, articles and briefings to journalists and damage limitation exercises.
    ï‚§ Secured Government Broadband Solutions Framework contract for Easynet. Helping them come first overall out of six major UK telecommunications providers
    ï‚§ Devised and implemented public affairs strategies of national public sector business development and marketing for a variety of private sector clients seeking a foothold in the government marketplace. On behalf of Easynet, I developed national and regional public sector broadband strategy that encompassed the entire range of the UK public services (Central Government, Local Government, Regional Development Agencies, NHS, Emergency Services, Education and Defence) on a top down’ policy and bottom up’ business unit strategy basis.
    ï‚§ Undertook Strategic Public Sector Reviews for clients including Independent Media Group, Guardian Professional, Docqwise Group, Easynet; DBM; Welsh Assembly Government; East Midlands Development Agency;

    Feb 2001 to Oct 2002: Director of Projects

    ï‚§ As co-founder set up Governetz as a public sector focused consultancy;
    ï‚§ Secured business from, and managed direct consultancies for diverse private sector clients such as:
    - Financial Times (electronic information) ,
    - Barclays Plc (e-business solutions. A hi-light of this consultancy was successfully clearing path via the EC Competition Directorate for the first use of reverse auctions in UK public sector on behalf of the D.V.L.A. in Swansea)
    ï‚§ Established seminar programmes for public sector clients including The Fire Service College and London Remade that fulfilled wider policy objectives in context successful day events;
    ï‚§ Managed direct sales, research, marketing and event strategies in furtherance of business development objectives;
    ï‚§ Oversaw the creation and running of London offices.
