I hold an MA degree in linguistics, specializing in Polish-English-Russian translation and foreign languages teaching. I'm also a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists.

During my studies I have completed general and specialist translation and interpreting courses, including legal document translation, financial/economic translation, audiovisual translation and many others. I can translate documents varying from birth certificates, driving licenses and contracts, through texts about politics, culture and current issues to financial statements and reports. I can prepare translations for audiovisual materials – for both subtitles and voice-over. I can also prepare subtitles for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing.

I have experience in translating documents for companies and individual clients. I can translate letters, CVs, diplomas, licences and certificates, complaints etc.

For over a year and a half I have worked for Waneko publishing house in Warsaw. My main responsibility was proofreading all their publications. As a proofreader I had to check the translations for language correctness and consistency, as well as misspellings. Some of the texts required my editing and confronting the translations with original texts.

During my work at Waneko, I also translated the book “How to Draw Manga – Ninja and Samurai Portrayal” from English into Polish. This assignment required a vast knowledge of specialist terminology and a lot of research.

As a language teacher I have experience in teaching English as a foreign language to groups of pupils as well as individual learners. I also teach Polish as a foreign language to groups and individuals.

I am organized, reliable and enthusiastic about my work.

    Area Covered: Yorkshire
