    Job Title: Continuity Announcer
    Company: BBC Television
    Description: I produce succinct, engaging continuity scripts for BBC 1 and BBC 2, making sure that copy is on-brand for each channel. Writing to Ofcom regulations and BBC compliance, I am required to demonstrate sensitivity to legal issues and news events, and make editorial judgements accordingly.
    Most on-air announcements are live, and so I am expected to deal with any subsequent transmission problems – such as breakdowns or schedule changes – confidently and professionally.

I worked with in-house teams to produce copy for marketing materials, policy documents and resources. I researched and wrote internal communications such as poster copy, emails and intranet posts. I was also responsible for writing, editing and proofreading articles for supporters" magazine Mac News, and was the main copywriter for Macmillan"s 2011 calendar and the Brick Lane Takeover programme.

    Key achievement:

    I produced a 10,000 word Guide for Young Carers following a series of interviews with young people whose lives had been touched by cancer.

    Description: My voice was heard launching Film 4 to Freeview in 2006, and I went on to provide continuity for Channel 4, More 4 and E4. Working with the marketing department, I wrote scripts that targeted the relevant demographic of each network channel.

    Key achievement:

    I conceived and produced the station"s tribute broadcast to John Peel. I researched contributors, conducted interviews and sourced music for the piece. I scripted and recorded the narration, then edited it all into a 12-minute audio package, which was played out on BFBS Radio 1 and used as news content.

    I was the project manager for a DVD produced by the company. I pulled together content, planned filming and voiceover schedules and oversaw legal and financial requirements. I managed printing, sales and distribution of the final product which was delivered on time and on budget.
