    Freelance & Permanent Employment History

Script This Ltd - Flitwick, Bedfordshire
    January 2012 - Present
    Director / Developer - http://www.script-this.co.uk

Since forming Script This in 2012, I have had the opportunity to work on various exciting, high profile projects for such brands as Nickelodeon, The Discovery Channel and MTV. Projects included:

    Turtles Buzzkit Presentation
Key technologies: Flash, AS3, Illustrator and Greensock Tween Engine

Nickelodeon acquisition of the global rights to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in late 2012, a subsequent re-imagination of the hit animated TV show took place. To support this, I produced a promotional Flash based interactive ‘Buzzkit’ to be distributed via themed USB drives. The ‘Buzzkit’ was designed to introduce people to the new show and provide a schedule snapshot for the 2012-2013 launch process. It also documented style guides, product inspiration boards and new merchandise ranges. Working directly with the client’s Creative Director, a slick, media-rich presentation was produced utilising the Greensock Tween Engine for fast, rapid fire, timeline based animation in keeping with the TMNT branding. An introductory video and soundtrack were also incorporated into the product with user on/off controls.

    Discovery Channel Microsite
Key technologies: HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery and Photoshop

After building a strong relationship with one of our clients, the opportunity arose to produce a microsite for the Discovery Channel. The channel was then launching in Turkey and so to support this, our client had designed a number of web pages to showcase the shows being broadcast. These designs were handed over along with a basic site map ready for development. This project was completed successfully to a tight time frame and budget. The site featured promotional imagery for many Discovery Channel shows as well as YouTube hosted video snippets. The 960 grid system was utilised for smart, effective page layout, a JQuery slide show was added and CSS was heavily used to ensure design accuracy and correct type-facing.

    Interactive Maps
Key technologies: Flash, AS3, XML and HTML

The Interactive Maps project allowed me to work side by side with one of our creative clients. The brief was to produce two independent, interactive world maps: one to show office locations across the globe and the other to mark in colour the risk level of selected countries. Both implementations utilised the same in-house developed mapping platform which was fully customisable via either internal or external XML. The data set also featured locational information ready to be displayed at a country level. Smooth animations allow you to transition from continent to country level and back at the click of a button. All textual content could be modified for translated versions and countries could easily be enabled or disabled direct from the data. Recent developments have even seen version produced for direct embedding into Powerpoint presentations.
