Sarah was hired to work on a new brand launch project. She began working on the project but after initial scoping work and 'thinking' through the project, she left the project before it properly began. As a result, I have very little to show by way of actual 'takeaway' work. Sarah spent quite a lot of time reading up on notes I had provided for her with, analysing competitors and 'thinking' through the project and brand. Whilst I was happy with the quality of her work, her unexpected exit from the project, means I now have to cover much of the same background work with someone else (who will hopefully prove more reliable). This ultimately means that hiring Sarah has been a waste of time and a waste of precious project resources.
