I am currently Head of Press for a small independent agency with a particular focus on music and entertainment having spearheaded national, regional and digital campaigns for a variety of different artists, releases, festivals and events.

I recently managed the 'Cage Against The Machine' campaign at Christmas which generated a huge amount of coverage in newspapers, magazines, daytime radio and TV.

I am the stage where I want to take my career on to the next level by joining a bigger agency with prospects to progress through the ranks and work with the best in the industry. I have attached my CV for consideration.

Many thanks,

Nick Bateson

Area Covered: PR
Work Experience Summary: Recent Case Study: ‘Cage Against The Machine’ (cover of John Cage’s 4:33’ silent track recorded live)

With only a very short lead in time I mobilised my extensive national press and radio contacts to a roll call at Dean Street Studios where we facilitated interviews with the artists and organisers. This resulted in a huge amount of coverage from all the national daily/weekly newspapers and radio stations including The Guardian, The Observer The Independent, The Telegraph, The Times, The Sun, Metro, The Evening Standard, NME, Daily Mirror, Financial Times, Reveal, The New York Times, The LA Times, Press Association, The People, MSN, BBC Music, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC 5 Live, BBC 6Music, XFM, Sky News and even Have I Got News For You.

In the run up to the release date the facebook group was growing at a rate of around 10, 000 - 20, 000 likes per day and resulted in 4:33’ (which was nearly five minutes of silence) entering straight into the Top 20. All of the organisers including the record label (Wall Of Sound) stated it was an outstanding campaign with ‘an unbelievable level of online and offline saturation’.

Notable Campaigns: Eddy Temple-Morris, Chrome Hoof, Lisa Moorish, The Holloways, Herve, Losers, Naïve New Beaters, Fight Like Apes, Burn The Negative, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Pope Joan, Saving Aimee, Fake Blood, Bent, Pathaan, Sudha, The New Wine, City Reverb, Jagz Kooner, Timo Garcia, My Toys Like Me + many more

Charity Campaigns: Cage Against The Machine, British Tinnitus Association (launch of Tinnitus awareness week 2010)

Brands: XFM, Jagermeister

Award Winning Campaigns: Glade Festival, voted ‘Best Dance Festival’ at the UK Festival Awards 2008

Live: Morten Harket @ The Royal Albert Hall, Crush Depth Warehouse Party (June 4th 2010, SOLD OUT 1,500 CAPACITY), Crush Depth National Tour, Club Remix, Nozstock Festival (2010), 3rd Degree Festival, Insomniacs Ball @ seOne (SOLD OUT 3000 CAPACITY), Twisted Licks clubnight, The Holloways National Tour, Kill All Hippies clubnight, Hoxton Pimps and Twisted Licks NYE party, The XFM Remix All Nighter @ seOne (SOLD OUT 3000 CAPACITY), Glade Festival (2008), Be @ Proud Galleries, Secret Garden Party (The Remix stage), Standon Calling Festival, Remix All Nighter @ Matter (2009), Insomniacs Ball @ Corsica Studios (2009), Twisted Licks @ The Macbeth (2009)
