I am currently employed as Training Manager for a health and social care employment business designing, delivering and assessing all health and social care training. March 2010 – Present TRAINING MANAGER (Fairway Care)
Responsibilities include; Health, Safety and Social Care training and development including mandatory, statutory and bespoke courses. Training advice and mentoring to other members of staff within the organisation. Designing and coordinating training to cover both the organisation's current and future needs. Building relationships with managers to identify training needs for in house staff as well as external organisations and ensuring we achieve and maintain quality, delivery and accreditation standards. Drawing up overall training plans and influencing behavioural change. Training needs analysis involving, design, content, delivery and evaluation. Involvement in tendering processes for new and existing contracts. Building relationships with partner organisation’s in the development of pilot schemes including course development and facilitation in conjunction with skills for care and learning for change. Working in partnership with Bury Council Adult Care Services in designing bespoke training courses and ensuring they meet their specified learning outcomes. Producing materials for in-house and external training and on going development of course content. Managing staff appraisals and reviews and making sure staff have opportunities for ongoing development. Monitoring and auditing of trainers to ensure that standards, presentation and delivery are of a high standard in line with current training methods and guidelines.

Sept 2008 – March 2010 TRAINING AND EDUCATION CONSULTANT
Responsibilities include;
• First Aid at work involving all HSE approved courses, emergency first aid, 3 day first aid at work, refreshers, paediatrics one and two day, basic life support and AED.
• Consultant to a number of organisations including A4e new deal programmes (16-20yr olds) including local schools training for apprenticeships and school leavers (14-16yr olds) carrying out first aid at work, health and safety and basic life support courses.
• Consultant to Primary Care Trust, providing statutory and mandatory training including; fire safety, adult and paediatrics basic life support, infection control, protection of children and vulnerable adults, customer care, health and safety, risk management, load management, emergency planning safeguarding adults and children and corporate updates.
• Identifying training and development needs within an organisation through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers and human resource departments; designing and developing training and development programmes based on both the organisation's and the individual's needs; considering the costs of planned programmes and keeping within budgets and assessing the return on investment of any training or development programme.
• Working in a team to produce programmes that are satisfactory to all relevant parties in an organisation, such as line managers and senior managers at board level; developing effective induction programmes; conducting appraisals; devising individual learning plans; producing training materials for in-house courses; managing the delivery of training and development programmes.
• Devising a training strategy for the organisation; monitoring and reviewing the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers; ensuring that statutory training requirements are met; evaluating training and development programmes; amending and revising programmes as necessary, in order to adapt to the changes that occur in the work environment.

• Iraq tour OpTelic 5, received a mention in dispatches for courage, professionalism and calmness under high levels of stress.
• Assisted and advised in the planning, preparation, training and deployment for operations in Iraq including medical and psychological preparations.
• Supervised and instructed in the training and development of personnel for a multitude of high intensity operations including 4 and 6 man contact drills both on foot and mobile, escape and evasion drills, conflict and disaster management, security of individuals and structures, weapons and tactics, psychological preparation, first aid, marksmanship, discipline and general operation and conduct of personnel.
• Health and safety, risk assessments, assisted in the Iraq Police and National Guard training and mentoring.
• Responsibility for management of Reconnaissance Platoon in charge of thirty two men, supervised and conducted training in the arts of surveillance, war fighting skills, weapons and tactics, psychological operations, intelligence gathering.
• Covert surveillance operations in somewhat difficult situations, deployed to Macedonia as part of the organisation for support and cooperation in Europe (OSCE) force.
• Ability to motivate, achieve robustness and determination from personnel enabling them to cope with and operate in difficult situations with high levels of mental and physical stress. Controlled and managed a fleet of thirty vehicles including procurement, supply, demand and logistics.
