Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: Not sure
We're looking for a freelance technical author who can provide ad hoc project support at busy times.
You'll be working with two other technical authors within our small family-run business. It'd be helpful if you can make it to our office for handovers now and then, so we're only taking applications from people resident in the UK. You'll also need to be a native British English speaker.
Overall, we're a small, easy-going team with a keen interest in Japanese mascots, real ale, records, and doggos. We enjoy our work and like our clients to be happy, so we expect deadlines to be met without fail. Obviously, we need the work to be of a high standard. We'll work with your availability and would like you to be honest about your own needs and requirements.
ESSENTIALS
- Training or demonstrable professional experience in technical writing techniques, MadCap Flare, and Camtasia Studio (Windows)
- Native British English speaker
- Able to self-motivate and self-manage
DESIRABLES
- Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and MadCap Capture
- Within driving distance of north Leeds.
We are not interested in people who cannot stick to deadlines, take on more than they can handle, or are uncommunicative. At the moment, we are only looking for technical authors who use the software packages we're already using.
Please give us an idea of your experience with Flare/ Camtasia, your location, and your rates. The figure provided in this ad is not an upper limit. You'll be required to sign an NDA before we can assign some trial work.
