Transcribing Accented English speech using IPA and carry out linguistic analysis
I would like to find a linguistics/phonetic trained staff to do IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) transcription of some accented English speech like this
http://accent.gmu.edu/browse_language.php?function=detail&speakerid=45
and put them into Excel sheet format (please see the attached xls file).
I would also like them to classify the speakers speech error into different types ( please see the attached doc file)
Consonants
Single: Initial substitution e.g. red [w], thing [f]
Medial substitution e.g. station [steɪʒən]
Final deletion e.g. five [fai], Bob [boʊ]
Final voicing change e.g. frog, big [k]; plastic [g]
Final substitution e.g. scoop [spun]
L-vocalisation e.g. call, will
Clusters: initial, deletion e.g. frog [fog] brother [buda] plastic [pastig]
Initial, substitution, mainly n/l or l/r e.g. slabs [snaps], snake [slek], frog [flok] blue [bru]
Final, deletion of stem in non-suffixed words e.g. ask [as]
Final, deletion of stem in suffixed words e.g. bags [bas] spoons [spus] kids [kis]
Final, devoicing of stem in suffixed words e.g. kids [kits] bags [baks]
Final, deletion of suffix e.g. slabs [slap]
Vowels
Diphthong shortening/monophthongisation e.g. snake [snek]
Substitution (quality) e.g. snack [snek]
Substitution (quantity) e.g. cheese (KIT vowel)
Other substitution e.g. three [friʊ]
Please tell me your rate for transcribing the above speech and error analysis for 90 speakers (around 30 -40 seconds each). (example speech in the attached wav file)
Duration of the project is around 1.5 months, and I expect to have 30 finished speakers per week for partial payment.
