Description

I need Report on a leader all described in file attached including Power Point Presentation ( I will need a narrative text for discussion of each slide ) Brief description is:
Each student must write a report on a leader/leaders of their choice to include the following
themes:
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Discuss the leader’s communication strategies that illustrate their personal effectiveness.
How has this leader applied critical thinking and creative skills in the context of change
management?
How has this leader fostered teamwork?
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Discuss the leader’s communication strategies that illustrate their personal effectiveness.
How has this leader applied critical thinking and creative skills in the context of change
management?
How has this leader fostered teamwork?
How has this leader emphasised ethical standards?
What is the key to this leaders success?
How would you define the culture of the organisation under the stewardship of this leader?
For example:
If for example there is little information available or perhaps the leader is less well known, then the
student may opt to choose more than one leader. In the case of high profile leaders/organisations
there would normally be sufficient information available.
Students may opt to write about the leader of an organisation which has undergone a transformation
in terms of culture, new product offerings, an acquisition or merger, a cost cutting exercise, or indeed
any change that had to be made in order to adapt to the environment and survive in their particular
industry.
The scope is broad. Students may choose any organisation in which they have an interest. It can be
for example any type of a business from a football club, political party to a pharmaceutical
organisation. The key is that each student is able to discuss the points outlined above as well as their
own relevant points of interest as well as drawing on theory.
What is imperative is that the leader should stand out for his/her role. In order to make this
assignment less of a “chore”, students are advised to choose an organisation in which they have a
particular interest (you are not limited to any particular field).
Where do I start?
In order to carry out this piece of work students should use the Yeats Library to find relevant articles.
Sources such as Harvard business review, Forbes, Fortune, Business week, Business Today, Inc,
Business and Finance, Wired, McKinsey Quarterly and the Economist (this list is not exhaustive!)
may be helpful in this regard. Industry specific publications would also be helpful as well as business
newspapers. There are also many podcasts which may be of interest.
Students are asked to include at least ten sources of reference for this piece of work
Format of Report
Title page. (to include student name(s) and ID number(s). Subject. Date. Module Title. Lecturer
Name)
Table of Contents (to include page numbers)
Executive Summary (different from an introduction, this is like a quick synopsis of the report.
Although placed at the beginning of the report, this should be written last) – 5 marks
Introduction (to include context of this report. Who are you writing about? What are the
circumstances?) – 10 marks
Sections on each of the 6 points below. (please ensure that each section is in a larger font and font
is bold) – 60 marks
1. Discuss the leaders communication strategies that illustrate their personal effectiveness.
2. How has this leader applied critical thinking and creative skills in the context of change
management?
3. How has this leader fostered teamwork?
4. How has this leader emphasised ethical standards?
5. What is the key to this leaders success?
6. How would you define the culture of the organisation under the stewardship of this leader?
Conclusion – 10 marks
Appendices (appendices are where you put ‘additional information’ relevant to the body of the
report (only if you deem it necessary). For example you may be referring to a speech someone made
and quoting it in the body of the report. You could decide to put the entire report in the appendices.
Another example – you may be quoting statistics from a table/chart in the body of the report and you
may decide to put the entire report in the appendices, there may be a photograph you want to include
etc. (The appendices are literally the “extra”).
Please note that wordcount does not include table of contents, references, bibliography or
appendices.
Bibliography: (this is where you reference all articles which you read whilst carrying out research
for this report (irrespective of whether or not you included them in the final report) – 5 marks
References (differs from the bibliography in that this section is for all the articles which you read
and included in the report. – 5 marks
Layout: Times New Roman. Size 12. Column headings, size 14 bold. 1 ½ spacing. – 5 marks
Wordcount: 2500 to 3000 words.
