Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 - 6 months
Num. of words: one thousand per chapter
Tone: Instructional/Educational
Extensive research needed: yes
Extra notes: Below you will find an example of what's needed in each chapter/module. I'm a terrible writer and need help.
Workshop has improved substantially but needs the following changes... Runtime reading it out loud was approx. 20 minutes, which is the minimum--20 to 35 minutes is our target but anything up to 45 is okay as long as the content is information packed with actionable content ("not filler").
1) There are still grammar items to attend to (plurals, verb tenses, punctuation, etc.)... Remember, think of this worksheet as part of the book and/or something people will print and take with them. So it needs to read well and be correctly formatted.
2) Balance of content: The first 2 sections were somewhat improved but they are much shorter than the essay section, which is not the top priority for getting more money overall. I liked the essay section and was delighted with it being very actionable but it needs to be tightened up to about 1/2 that length. It should be less chatty and more succinct on why it's important and emphasize, "Here's how to get this done, when to do it and how long it will take."
3) GPA & Course Selection still has a mass media reference. Please replace this. It should have at least 3 actionable links to resources. For example, I'm surprised you didn't mention the SAGE program, which starts in the Freshman year, can earn up to $20,000 and is tied to course selections. This section needs to be about double of what it is, with practical suggestions and strategies for choosing classes and timing. This course does not rely on high school guidance counselors to provide this type of information, it's very important for parents and students to have this information along with the timing, course selection and importance of grades all clearly explained.
4) Standardized tests: This is a good start, again it needs to be about doubled. I would recommend adding information about how students can prepare in advance, such as, free workbooks, taking the test early (and learning by doing), group classes, private tutors and specific test prep courses (such as the one we will use as an upsell--a mention, not a pitch, there will be an ad on the page offering a link to our in-house test prep options from CMP).
5) I think the internship and leadership club section is pretty good, aside from the grammar issues.
6) Links & Resources: These will be created as you expand within the material. There needs to be a minimum of 7 to 10, more is fine if they're good and not to mass media solutions.
The mass media resources are like a waiter tossing packets of McDonald's ketchup on the table while you're dining at a fancy, high-priced, steak house.
