We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced co-author to help create a coping skills workbook for teens/tweens. This workbook aims to provide practical, engaging, and effective strategies for managing stress, building resilience, and navigating emotional challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychology, counseling, or a related field, as well as proven experience in writing for a teenage audience. There's also the opportunity to be featured as a co-author for added credibility and publicity.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with me to develop a comprehensive and engaging workbook based on an initial outline and research.
Improve upon the existing outline, adding unique and effective exercises tailored to teenagers.
Write clear, concise, and relatable content that is both informative and engaging.
Incorporate real-life examples, storytelling, and practical exercises to enhance the workbook’s effectiveness.
Ensure the content is age-appropriate and avoids sensitive topics such as self-harm and sexual abuse.
Include visual elements, such as illustrations and graphics, to make the workbook visually appealing and easy to understand.
Revise and edit drafts based on feedback to ensure the highest quality of content.
Collaborate on writing sections that are engaging for teens, ensuring a conversational and empathetic tone throughout.
Requirements:
Educational degree in psychology, counseling, education, or a related field.
Proven experience in writing for teens, preferably in the self-help or educational niche.
Strong understanding of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and other relevant therapeutic techniques.
Excellent writing and storytelling skills with a conversational and empathetic tone.
Ability to create engaging and interactive content that appeals to a teenage audience.
Experience in creating workbooks or similar educational materials is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work collaboratively and incorporate feedback effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in ghostwriting or co-authoring books.
Familiarity with the latest research and trends in teen mental health and coping strategies.
Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique activities and exercises.
