Description
Experience Level: Entry
Our infrastructure team needs clear, production-ready docs that speak directly to system administrators who deploy, monitor, and maintain our REST API. I will provide the current OpenAPI (Swagger) spec, log samples, and internal notes; your task is to turn those raw materials into a single, well-structured documentation set.
Focus areas
• Precise catalogue of all error codes with causes, impact, and actionable remediation steps.
• A troubleshooting section that walks admins through common failure scenarios, log signatures, and command-line checks.
Format & style
Markdown is preferred so we can publish to both Confluence and a static HTML site, but I’m open to another lightweight format if it improves readability. Code blocks should be copy-paste ready; tables must render cleanly in both dark and light themes.
Deliverables
1. Complete Markdown (or agreed-upon) document ready for merge.
2. Any supplemental images, diagrams, or sequence charts as separate assets.
3. A short change-log summarising what was added or modified.
Acceptance criteria
• Every error code returned by the API is documented with HTTP status, description, root cause, and fix.
• Troubleshooting flow covers at least the eight scenarios outlined in my notes.
• Links, code snippets, and diagrams all build without warnings in our CI Markdown linter.
If you have experience writing for Ops or SRE audiences and can translate technical depth into practical guidance, I’d love to work with you.
