Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I am looking for a creative writer/poet to write a warm, heartfelt poem capturing the emotional journey of moving home and the many ways our service takes the stress and organisation away from the customer.
The service will be much more than a traditional removals company. The idea is to act as a home-moving concierge, taking away much of the stress of moving by helping organise and coordinate everything the customer needs — from planning, decluttering, packing and removals to cleaning the old/new home, storage, unpacking and settling into their new home.
We will also help customers deal with belongings they no longer need, including opportunities to sell, donate, reuse and recycle wherever possible.
I want the poem to focus on the emotional side of moving home rather than simply listing our services.
Moving can be stressful and overwhelming, so I want the poem to convey the feeling that we take care of the organisation and details, allowing the customer to concentrate on the excitement of their new home, a fresh start and creating new memories.
I have written two sections myself which give an idea of the feeling and direction I like:
“A NEW HOME, A NEW CHAPTER,
A FRESH START, A NEW VIEW.
WE'LL TAKE CARE OF THE JOURNEY,
FROM OLD HOME TO NEW.”
And:
“WE'LL PACK IT, WE'LL MOVE IT,
WE'LL CLEAN AND PREPARE,
WE'LL HELP YOU UNPACK IT
AND SETTLE WITH CARE.”
These are only ideas to show the sort of warmth, rhythm and message I am looking for. I am completely happy for the wording, structure and even the ideas themselves to be changed if you feel you can create something stronger.
The poem should capture ideas such as:
❤️ Taking away the stress of moving
? Leaving one chapter and beginning another
✨ A fresh start and new beginnings
? Taking care of people's belongings
? Organising all the different aspects of the move
? Giving unwanted belongings another purpose where possible
? Arriving at a new home
❤️ Creating new memories
I don't want it to sound like a corporate advertisement or simply rhyme a list of services.
I want it to be warm, emotional, reassuring and uplifting, so that someone reading it can relate to the experience of moving home and understand that our role is to make the whole journey easier.
The environmental side should be present but subtle — more about giving things another life and avoiding unnecessary waste rather than being overly focused on the word “eco”.
Please provide 3 different versions or creative approaches to the poem, each capturing the same core message but with a slightly different tone or style. This will allow me to decide which direction best suits the brand.
Ideally, the finished poem would be around 16–24 lines and should sound natural when read aloud.
The overall feeling I want the customer to take away is:
“Moving home is a big change, but I don't have to worry about all the details — someone is taking care of the journey so I can concentrate on starting my next chapter.”
The business name has not yet been decided, so please don't build the poem around a specific company name.
