Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: 1 day or less
Num. of articles: 2 Video Reviews 1 News Article
Words per article: 250-2,500
Information for the blog/website: We provide news about gamers and the Industry surrounding them and add
value to the content they produce.
Industry: Publishing/Journalism
Topic: Gaming, YouTube, News
Tone: Informal/Casual
Outline & Structure:
1. Videos
The first is that we are adding value to existing content by writing short reviews of videos posted by gamers. These reviews will contain better categorisation then on their published channels, they will have links to specific sections in the videos to skip to specific content (e.g. Killing a boss, finding loot, meeting another player, a funny part, an interesting part, an entertaining/well produced part, etc). These videos can also be added to lists, if the videos are in a sequence (or ‘series’) as other platforms struggle to categorise this and gamers themselves sometimes don’t even bother.
Assassins Creed
Each video item must have:
Min: 200 words. Max 1,000 words
Youtube URL - This is video being reviewed.
Date the Youtube video was uploaded
Content writer (automatic)
Date of article (automatic)
Best bits - These are timestamps within the video
We also like:
Youtuber tag(s) - We have a list of the top 100 Youtubers
Genre tag(s) - We have a list of genres you can use
Game tag(s) - We have all recent and some classic games you can use.
Related video - Existing content on the site. This is the recommended next video for users.
2. News
The second type of content is commentary and stories around the gamers and their industry. These stories will be fueled by gamer industry politics, relationships, rising gamer profiles, stories of wealth and earnings, a new form of celebrity finding it’s place in the world, game releases and more. Really we have a huge amount of topics to write about so the full content strategy will have to define what we do write about and what we don’t to ensure that we’re consistent.
No Man's Sky
Every news item must have:
Min. 500 words. Max 2,500 words
A large landscape image of the game (1800px*1000-1800px)
Optional items:
~100 word introduction (in bold)
Youtube URL
Youtuber tag(s)
Genre tag(s)
Game tag (s)
Extra notes: Unique content-
All content must be original and unique to Habyte. All copywriters must keep to copywrite rules, keep any copying to less than 10% of both our content and external content. All references must be linked to in the content.
Call of Duty
Links-
We like links to external sites throughout the content.
No Adult content-
All content should be safe for work. No heavy pornography, illegal drugs or excessive swearing. This applies to Habyte only. We recognise the wider industry does swear and may link and review content that has swearing.
Videos that have excessive gore should have a warning.
Ratings-
The game description should include the EU PEGI rating.
Focus-
We are focusing on the top 100 gamers and mainstream games as a general policy as there is SO much content even with this brief. In later months the focus can be expanded once we feel we have covered this.
Halo
Laws-
UK laws apply. All copywriters must keep to UK laws.
