ABOUT US
Investment Works - www.invworks.com - is an investment research group based in Frankfurt (Germany) and with worldwide reach.
We apply value investing and search for asymmetric risk-reward opportunities in new technologies and business models.
We manage the IW Portfolio (www.invworks.com/portfolio), a proprietary portfolio of US equities that has returned 168% since 2015 (35%+ annual return).
In January 2018, we launched a free subscription service that provides access to our stock research and investment ideas, as well as the components of the IW Portfolio. Hundreds of investors are subscribed to our investment newsletter, and our research is read by tens of thousands of investors every month.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a financial writer to present our investment research and ideas to our reader base in an engaging way.
We will be giving you as input an investment thesis already developed by our research team (typically focused on a publicly traded company such as Apple or Foot Locker). This input will be schematic, with a few sentences, tables, figures and conclusions.
Your job will be to produce an engaging blog article out of that thesis (in English). The ideal article will be true to the investment thesis we provided you as input, as well as informative, articulate and engaging enough (this is your job!) to compel users to subscribe to our newsletter to learn more about us.
For examples of the type of articles you will be writing, check our recent published research @ www.invworks.com/research.
The ideal candidate is familiar with financial terminology, including accounting (gross margin, SG&A, capex, GAAP, ...) and acquainted with the basics of the investment process (asset classes, cost of capital, net present value, etc.)
BENEFITS
We are offering about $35 per article, and we estimate an article will take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours to complete (remember that the thesis is already developed by our research team, you just have to put it into words... with style!).
We will offer you the opportunity to write about one article per week.
Also, you will be learning directly from our equity research team how to value a stock, assess potential risks and reward and manage a real-world equity portfolio (one of the most successful portfolios of the decade, by the way).
So if you are interested in the world of stocks and investing --and if you are the ideal candidate, you will most certainly be, the real-world education you are going to receive is going to be priceless!
Quite frankly, I would have loved to work along accomplished investors while a colleague student... even if for free!
Also, this is a fantastic starting point to become a stock analyst in the future, at Investment Works or elsewhere.
