Need writer to cover interesting innovations & technologies to do quick write ups

Need a writer to write captions for Instagram posts on interesting new technology and emerging innovations.

Basically, you need to read about cool technology and write short captions to describe them.

I'm looking for 2 types of captions:

1) Writing short 1-2 sentence captions to be displayed in a sequence and accompanied by video/images. These explain the list of what the new technology is, what the impact could be, whats cool about it, and possibly what applications it has.
2) Writing an accompanying longer form caption thats 100-200 words describing the technology, and again whats interesting about it. Think of it like you’re trying to explain the technology to a friend, giving them all the information they need to get the idea, and then enough interesting things or human interest to get them excited or curious about it.

These two will get combined and added together with graphics / images / templates and turned into an Instagram post.

The workflow generally works like this:

- You’ll be given a link to a summary article about the technology (maybe 300-500 words
- If more information is needed, you’ll Google search for another article or the company page about the product/discovery.
- You’ll write 5-10 step by step captions detailing what it is.
- You can optionally add instructions for what type of graphic/video you think should accompany each caption
- You’ll write a 100-200 word caption summarizing what it is and focusing on the key things that make it interesting. Many people who will want to know more about the post read this.
- You’ll wrap up the post with a call to action. The idea of this is to get users to comment, like, or follow. Usually this is a question based on the content. For instance, if the post is about lab grown food, the caption “What about you? Would you eat a $100 lab grown hamburger?” would be an appropriate call to action. Anything that solicits a response.

Ideally, you are an Instagram user and have experience using it (not just browsing).

This job is best suited for someone who can work quickly and doesn’t need a lot of time to absorb the material. It will also be best for someone who enjoys writing for entertainment or at least has a finger on what the general public thinks is interesting. The focus of the short captions is to be concise but also impactful. We can expand a little more in the full caption.

I’m ok with massaging some of the information to present something in a more interesting light. For example: we covered a jacket with reflector dots on it for bicycle riders at night. I called the dots “sensors” because thats technically true and says more “high tech”. A more common description would have been “reflective plastic”.

I need someone who can put a decent amount of hours into this. The goal is to post as often a day as possible. Each set of captions should not end up taking more than 45 minutes (ideally less). 5 captions of 1-2 sentences, and 100 words isn’t exactly hard.

We’ll make changes and improvements to the process as we go. Most likely, we'll set a daily or weekly goal to meet. Ideally, I want someone who can have fun with this because you're just reading about brand new ideas & innovations.
