Outline & Structure: This is a creative non-fiction memoir, about the leader of a band covering six years between 1965 to 1971. It involves the relationship between the author and the other band members and his main love interests. It covers the band's beginnings in San Francisco's east bay dive bars to the top of San Francisco night life in North Beach, within miles of Haight - Ashbury. Playing the top rock clubs in Hollywood, celebrity management and record production in top studios, playing at Caesars Palace, the Flamingo and International (Hilton now) Hotels in Las Vegas for everyone from Elvis to Bill Cosby. A trip to Hawaii to play for the nation's warriors on R&R break from Vietnam, and where the author romantic affair with a Hawaiian girl he eventually marries. As the band seems to be reaching all it's goals, the band begins to implode, the marriage to disintegrate, and the author will be forced to try and save both.
