The purpose of TE is to provide solutions for restoring, replacing and maintaining functions of tissue/organ of interest using applied sciences and engineering approaches.
Tissue engineering will help a person conquer a disease or illness and people would not have to wait for an organ donor.
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major public health problem, instead of having to go with dialysis or kidney transplant procedures, we could use new approaches such as organ bioengineering and combine functional renal cells with a decellularized kidney scaffold. In this study, we prepared scaffold by removing cellular components from the Rat kidney with the decellularization step).
